He has developed his career in all areas of water management (urban networks, treatment and purification, water resources and dams, ports and coasts), with a clear tendency towards innovation in all processes. Since his first contract as a researcher for NASA in the USA, he has held various positions of responsibility in companies in the water engineering sector, having directed his own international consulting business for almost 20 years, specializing in NRW management. He has extensive experience in international project management and business development in the water engineering sector.

Mr. Carbonell has led more than 100 projects related to master planning and NRW management across the world. Project manager of different contracts of implementation of SMART SOLUTIONS for efficient water management, connecting GIS with SCADA, hydraulic models, billing software, Smart metering, etc. Project manager of many contracts of water loss control in Europe, Latin America and Middle East. Project manager of different privatization processes of water services in Europe, Latin America and Middle East.
